Sustainability-old
At Pasha we aren’t just committed to the longevity of human health and of our clothing.
But to the longevity of the planet as well.
That’s why our whole range; from the garments, the labels and tags, to the packaging you’ll receive it all in are sourced form sustainable materials.
And materials with a lower environmental impact that conventional alternatives.
These include:
Supima Cotton
Supima cotton is a superior type of cotton grown in the USA. It represents less than 1% of cotton grown in the world. What makes Supima unique to other cottons is the extra-long staple fibre that gives the cotton its premium properties: Strength, Softness and colour retention.
Like all cotton, Supima cotton is sustainable, renewable and biodegradable. However, a rare type of long-staple cotton, Supima is in the top one percent of cotton produced in the world. Twice as strong as regular cotton, it is trusted for its integrity and longevity.
Recycled Nylon
Incorporating as much recycled nylon as we can lessens our dependence on virgin petroleum as a raw material source, helps eliminate discarded material and reduces greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing.
Recycled Nylon diverts waste from landfills and its production uses much fewer resources than virgin nylon (including water, energy and fossil fuel). A large part of the recycled nylon produced comes from old fishing nets.
Recycled Spandex
Spandex (also known as elastane or lycra) is the property in garments that makes them stretchy to allow freedom of movement.
However the production of virgin spandex fibre pollutes land, air and water, and contributes to global warming when extracting and refining petroleum used to make the material.
Recycled spandex has the same qualities as it’s virgin cousin, whilst making use of materials that would otherwise have ended up in landfill. By using recycled spandex, waste is diverted from landfill and reused.
