At Status Quo we are committed in creating a range of clothing that is eco-friendly, stylish and high quality. With this in mind, we have created a brand of garments where fashion and fitness collide while still caring for the environment.
Our entire range of apparel including the labels, tags and the packaging are ethically sourced form sustainable materials, which reduces the carbon footprint that other products may impact on this planet we live and thrive on.
These materials include:
Supima Cotton:
Supima cotton is a superior type of cotton grown in the USA. It represents less than 1% of cotton grown in the world. What makes Supima unique to other cottons is the extra-long staple fibre that gives the cotton its premium properties: Strength, Softness and colour retention.
Like all cotton, Supima cotton is sustainable, renewable and biodegradable. However, a rare type of long-staple cotton, Supima is in the top one percent of cotton produced in the world. Twice as strong as regular cotton, it is trusted for its integrity and longevity.
Recycled Nylon:
Incorporating as much recycled nylon as we can lessens our dependence on virgin petroleum as a raw material source, helps eliminate discarded material and reduces greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing.
Recycled Nylon diverts waste from landfills and its production uses much fewer resources than virgin nylon (including water, energy and fossil fuel). A large part of the recycled nylon produced comes from old fishing nets.
Recycled Spandex:
Spandex (also known as elastane or Lycra) is the property in garments that makes them stretchy to allow freedom of movement.
However, the production of virgin spandex fibre pollutes land, air and water, and contributes to global warming when extracting and refining petroleum used to make the material.
Recycled spandex has the same qualities as it’s virgin cousin, whilst making use of materials that would otherwise have ended up in landfill. By using recycled spandex, waste is diverted from landfill and reused.
